They are usually initiated through social media and bring together a random selection of people. It is great when this is used for a positive experience, but can also be used for more subversive actions - thinking of London Riots and BBM. Because of youtube, it was followed by many other mob dances, like the one in Antwerp, and the one you posted, it is the first I have seen that made use of instruments and voice.
