I wonder if Kozinets would attempt to define who in the diagram was a community member and who wasn't...? The benefits of social structure in cyberspace are clear (although I thought it was interesting that earlier studies that Kozinets mentions saw 'egalitarian' and 'removing social status' as simply threats to community), so I agree that there must be some sort of organising factor. Whether that necessitates hierarchy, however, I'm unsure of...
