Posts then have different 'types' - articles, images, quotes and so on. Our Tumblog theme (Elefolio) uses the different 'types' to offer you different kinds of data entry options, depending on which one you choose. this might help a bit (or might not!) – in WordPress everything you add to your tumblog is a post – that’s the generic term for these reverse chronological entries.
