Notion of order

When I started the MScEL I found I was confronted by various areas and log ins to access the material, with a variety of entry points. After a time I began to know which was the best point of access for the material I needed – I learned the route to the information I needed based upon my approach to using the Internet which was going to help me develop my knowledge and understanding. This course has perhaps been set up with Kress (2005) in mind – that students “will come to this page from quite different cultural and social spaces, in differing ways, and with differing interests, not necessarily known to or knowable”

Kress (2005) referred to this as the ” Notion of order” and discusses how this has changed over time from one entry point to many

Its like the video in the film festival – Frightened Rabbit “I feel better” We have different starting points and choices and paths we need to follow if we take a step in one direction the future path and the next choice will change and that will be different for each individual taking the course

‘I learned the route’…: there seems an instinctive mapping action involved that allows us to direct our actions. The internet is one big mega map of interconnectivity.

I came across this website which I thought was very intriguing http://internet-map.net/

That is great Giraf, such a great image too, I can’t believe that only 46 % of global internet users visit google.com

I am currently stumbling through the wilderness of the EdMOOC too, 8000 tabs open and different links on each one, what is it i need to do and by when AAArrrgh.

I do like a nice list!

I thought it was odd too, just 46% globally, but number 1 in the UK…interesting, I checked a few other countries and it seems to make sense….
