Week One – Overview
Thrown in at the deep end!…Week one has presented questions about the subject of cyberculture and what it means / doesn’t mean to me. Initially my concern lay with the structure of my Tumblog to the extent that I needed it to sufficiently convey how I am feeling and how I am thinking. That in itself required reflection…
Several sections have been established to mirror this: E-motion [audio/visual], Images [Graphics, images, artistic snapshots] and Press [News related to the subject matter]. I am aware that the structure of the Tumblog will evolve over time but I feel that it is crucial to give it vertebrae at this point.
Although initially tentative in relation to the Tumblog I now feel comfortable with its structure and feel that this sense of ease will contribute to my interaction on it.
Already there has for me been an establishment of EDC community. Intimate in number I feel that the synchtube session early in the week was instrumental in solidifying the essence of group.
The subject matter of this module is completely new to me and so this week I initially felt pulled in several different directions. My posts questioned the societal impact of technology and the potential for digital desensitization to take place as a result of this coupling.
Interaction with the other Tumblogs has been invaluable in gaining multiple perspectives. It has been refreshing [and reassuring] to note that others are thinking along similar veins. I am excited about the week ahead…
