Validation

One of the most striking comments that I received to my digital artefact was the following:

It seems that aoosterwyk felt a significant emotional response to the fact that other people had drawn similar conclusions to the content as she had. I think it’s unclear whether aoosterwyk was seeking this ‘validation’ in order to satisfy herself that she was on the right track; or if happening upon the comments unexpectedly triggered the feelings of relief. Whichever, it seems, that this response could be a symptom of the disruption of the ‘reassuring process’ of traditional education which Jeremy alludes to in the #edcmooc hangout.
