Is the F pattern shortchanging the author, or is this a literacy that has emerged as a result of the medium?

    The Robbins article you linked to certainly spells out how effective the F pattern can be. It is a chicken and egg question…has the F pattern materialized in response to our natural reading paths [left to right - top to bottom] or have our reading paths organised and established themselves in accordance with the patterns presented to them? Or perhaps it is a cocktail of the two…
