    Is compatibility just a sign of monopoly? Love that question – don’t we all feel comfortable with compatibility? Do some people naturally take advantage of that to create monopolies? Kind of MOOC – ish?

    Yes, I think the absence of branding and the compatibilty of everything in both the Corning and MS videos were at first inviting–what a lot if people commented on as ‘clean’–it would be much easier if everything worked with everything else, there weren’t loads of companies competing for our money, etc…of course then the interpretation of the videos is that one kind of tech is so ubiquitous that it doesn’t need branding and extends to schools, cars, hospitals, even curriculum…

    Interesting point about MOOCs…are the benefits of diversity lost if everyone is learning the same thing from the same few people–a knowledge monopoly…?
